Wick’s Dan Shearer Inducted into the University of Arizona School of Journalism Hall of Fame
The University of Arizona School of Journalism has announced the induction of 15 distinguished alumni into its Hall of Fame this fall, honoring their extraordinary contributions to journalism and society. Among the honorees was Dan Shearer, Executive Editor of Wick Communications.
"I was honored to attend the ceremony, where Dan had the audience laughing throughout his heartfelt and humorous speech. He spoke about what truly inspires him — local coverage — from holding community leaders accountable to celebrating a small-town dog parade. His passion for meaningful, community-driven journalism was evident, and the audience’s laughter and applause said it all," said Dru Sanchez, Publisher of The Green Valley News, Sahuarita Sun and Nogales International.
Congratulations, Dan, on this well-deserved recognition!
