WENATCHEE — Rick Boone, a former managing editor for television stations in the Northwest and beyond, has been named news director for the combined newsroom operation of NCWLIFE-TV and The Wenatchee World newspaper.

Arizona-based Wick Communications acquired NCWLIFE-TV from its former parent company LocalTel in October 2024. The company then began seeking a news director to oversee journalistic operations for both media outlets. Boone, 57, was named to the new position Jan. 14 and began work Jan. 20.

"This is a really cool time for all of us to be part of this organization, and I am just overly privileged to be here," Boone said.
